Ernest Dimbo is an incoming student at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island with a passion for advocacy, public health and policy. After spending the first 17 years in Lagos, Nigeria, Ernest moved to the US and started his academic journey at Essex County College, before transferring to Boston University where he obtained his Bachelor's degree in Biology. To better understand the policies and forces influencing people's health, he pursued a Master's degree in Sociology with an emphasis on Marginality and Exclusion at the University of Cambridge.
In 2016, Ernest was named a Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholar, and again in 2020 a Jack Kent Cooke Graduate Scholar. As a recipient of these scholarships, Ernest has not only the fortune of having benefited from the financial support the scholarship provides, but the scholarly community it fosters - two features he hopes to champion in the PalmFronds community.
Outside of academics, Ernest enjoys memes, music, shows, movies and road trips. He also enjoys hosting gatherings, as well as participating in stand-up comedy in my free time.
